Media plays a very important role in bringing sexual health and rights issues to the fore front as development issues. As a post training activity for the youth advocates on sexual health and rights, NAYA in partnership with media houses places young people in the media to discuss and drum up support for health issues in Kenya. The aim of this activity is to increase debate on sexual health and rights as a development issue. It is estimated that more than 5 million people are reached annually.
In a call-in commentary by listeners, this was their take— “Am shocked on the level information you people have, I have been playing a dormant role in auditing of the constituency development funds, now I have a reason to be actively involved. Thanks for the programme.” “I witnessed a woman giving birth on her way to the hospital and the child died afterwards. If we had enough money for health, that child would have lived to see another day.”
