Victor Rasugu

Japheth Tetty

Programs Manager

Japheth brings to the team leadership, wealth of experience and passion. He has previously worked at Kwetu Training Center, Family AIDS Initiative Response, Scorecard Project and most recently as the Project Coordinator with AGRIBOOM Chops, an organization focused on empowering young people in Kisumu. Japheth has a strong background in Environmental Science from Kenyatta University, though his passion has always been working with young people and communities to achieve sustainable solutions. He holds a certificate in Leadership Skills Development and has demonstrated leadership during his schooling and at his work places. Japheth has written several papers on environmental issues, leadership, reproductive health and the position of the young person in Kenya. He has been at NAYA for over four years serving as a Program Associate and as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer before rising to serve as the Programs Manager. He has also served as the chairman of the NAYA Annual General meeting and the General Assembly. Japheth is a talented public speaker, mediator, facilitator, radio personality, team player and a morale boaster. Denis Otundo

Monitoring, Evaluation and Resource Mobilisation Manager

Denis holds a Master’s Degree in Medical Statistics from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Statistics from Moi University. He has four years experience in performing projects/research work both as a Monitoring and Evaluation officer and a statistician. He also has extensive knowledge in planning and implementing evaluation and research activities, capacity building in research, baseline and attitude surveys, research methodologies and design, quality assurance, processing and statistical analysis i.e. SPSS, Epi-Info, and STATA. Denis has done compilation and dissemination of Annual and Quarterly Reports both in government and Non-government organizations. Bridget Kaluhi

Finance and Adminitration Manager

Bridget holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Finance from Kenyatta University and Certified Public Accountant. Before joining NAYA, Bridget worked as Accounts Assistant for four years. She has comprehensive technical experience in accounting roles. Proven record of providing support needed to successfully organize accounting and business processes. Proficiency in listening to and understanding a company's needs and formulating tactical action plans to achieve results, project costing, knowledge on International Accounting Standards (IAS), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Standards on Auditing (ISA). Immaculate Oliech

Assistant Programme Coordinator

Immaculate holds a Bachelor's Degree in Development Studies with specialization in Governance and Development from Makerere University. She is currently pursuing a course leading to Masters of Social Development and Management at Maseno University (MA). Immaculate has experience in project planning and management, advocacy, partnership building, facilitation, community mobilization and education. She has previously worked at Impact Research and Development Organization and Maisha Development Trust. Robert Aseda

Program Officer, Policy and Partnerships

ROBERT has over four years’ experience working in the area of youth sexual and reproductive health and rights. He joined NAYA as a Youth Advocate, rose to a Program Associate and later a Program Officer. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Population Health from Kenyatta University and a certificate in Entrepreneurship. Robert has undergone training on budget advocacy, policy advocacy and media advocacy by NAYA, Planned Parenthood Global and Choice for Youth and Sexuality of the Netherlands. He has been involved in the ICPD process and is currently the chairman of the National Youth Consortium on the POST 2015 Development Agenda. He is also columnist with Rural Reporters, a Nigerian newspaper on under-reported issues in Africa, a radio personality, hockey player, creative blogger, poet and a regular contributor to local dailies in Kenya. Vincent Ogaya

Media and Communications Officer

Ogaya is passionate about media advocacy. His background in communications and the various advocacy trainings he has undergone at NAYA enables him to bring out sexual and reproductive health issues with a mix of experience and knowledge of its own kind.  He ensures that every detail on the script that goes out for broadcast, print or online is thorough and well thought out. Together with advocates and staff, he has seen the growth of the NAYA Media Team that now comprises reputable journalists from leading media houses in Kenya. Ogaya is particularly keen in ensuring that matters SRHR, meaningful youth engagement including policy and budgetary concerns find their space in the media even in the face of competition from traditionally newsworthy items such as politics. Through this he has become an invaluable social commentator on sexual and reproductive health and rights issues in print, broadcast and online media outlets. He is also passionate about young people, social media and community work. An alumnus of Moi University, he holds a BSc. Degree in Information Sciences from the institution. David Ongowo

Kisumu Officer

David has a five years’ experience in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights. He joined NAYA as a youth advocate, was promoted as program Associate and has served as a program Officer. David possesses a strong knowledge base in Information Technology, Outstanding skills in computer proficiency in both Hardware and Software from the Great Lakes University. Claudius Oyare

Programme Associate; Budget Advocacy

Claudius is a dedicated sexual and reproductive health and rights advocate and trainer with strong knowledge and understating on sexual and reproductive health and rights. His Special interests are in the areas of youth development, theatre, policy advocacy both at national and international level, community and meaningful youth engagement. Over the years, he has participated in budgetary process at the grass root and national level to build a case for the prioritization of SRHR in Kenya through increased health sectorial allocation. Humility, strong leadership and team work defines his culture. He is currently pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science at Maseno University and is convinced that he is part of the young people who will create global change on sexual and reproductive health and rights. Siaya County Team Leader

Felix is the Siaya Advocates Team Leader. He holds a diploma in sociology-community development. Felix has been involved in advocacy, sexual and reproductive health and rights and youth issues for over five years. He has been trained on peer education, psychosocial analysis by AMREF, group dynamics and leadership by Red Cross and computer packages. Odoyo holds a diploma in purchasing & suppliers management from Nairobi University. He is trained on advocacy and sexual and reproductive health and rights by Network of Adolescent & Youth of Africa (NAYA). He is also trained on core scouting, reproductive health, crime and drug reduction, HIV&AIDS, environmental education, mental health & entrepreneurship course by the Kenya Scouts Association. Dave is a 23 year old NAYA Youth Advocate from Kisii County. He holds a diploma in Community Development and counselling from Technical University of Mombasa. Rachel is a NAYA Youth Advocate from Kisumu County. She is currently pursuing a Diploma in Community Development at Maseno University. Peter is a 21 year old NAYA Youth Advocate from Siaya County. He is currently pursuing a diploma in information technology (IT). Oyagi is a 22 year old NAYA Youth Advocate from Kisii County. He is currently pursuing a Bachelors’ Degree in Clinical Medicine and Community Health. Oyagi has served as Youth Representative from sub county level for two years. He is good in communication and fluent both English and Kiswahili languages. He intends to eradicate ignorance among the youths about reproductive health and make them aware about their health and constitutional rights.

He has served as a Field Officer with Child Fund Kenya, as a project coordinator with the Legacy Publication of Moi University and also served as Organizing Secretary of Moi University Suba Students Association. He is flexible, self-driven, optimistic, goal-oriented and able to operate both independently and as a team player.

Addah holds a Bachelor’s Degree in social work from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology. She has undergone several trainings on rights of children as a Trainer of Trainers (TOT) by Plan International, Voluntary Savings Loaning (table banking) concept as TOT by Child fund, Home based care for people living with HIV and AIDS as TOT by Amref Maanisha, Child rights advocate and follow up mechanisms as TOT by Children department, Sexual and reproductive health and rights by NAYA Kenya and Youth and Governance on devolved funds by Plan International. She is rich in experience having served in various capacities including; volunteer children officer with Ministry of Labor, social security and services, workshop facilitator and trainer with Plan International, research assistant with various organization like Plan International and EACOR, Evaluation on socio-economic impact of Cash Transfer for orphans and vulnerable children by the Ministry of Labour, social security and services. Maurine Onyango

  Maurine is a NAYA youth advocate from Homa Bay County. She is currently undertaking a diploma in Social Work- Community Development from Suba Institute of Development studies. She has undergone several trainings; on sexual and reproductive health rights(SRHR) advocacy by Network for adolescents and youth of Africa(NAYA), HIV and AIDS awareness and drug substance abuse by Community Health care Volunteers organization(CHCV), Drug and Substance abuse training by Impact Research and Development organization among others. She has volunteered with Impact Research and Development organization where she performed the role of mobilization towards Voluntary Male Medical Circumcision (VMMC). She has also volunteered with Community Health care Volunteers organization as a field coordinator. Mackiche Victor

Victor is a 23 year old NAYA youth advocate from Homa Bay County. He has been trained on Governance, youth involvement in leadership and the constitution by Plan Kenya. He has also been trained on HIV/AIDS Testing and Counselling by Upendo VCT. Mackiche has strong communication and interpersonal skills, enjoys working with community on health matters, and has worked with Impact Research and Development as a Data Clerk. He is currently studying Diploma in IT from Nairobi Institute of Business Studies. He is also trained on Advocacy, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and Holding Community Forums.  

Meresa Okang’a

Meresa is a 22 year old NAYA youth advocate from Homa Bay County. She holds diploma in Social work and community development. She has actively engaged in peer education forum, health talk and dealing with orphans and less disadvantaged groups. SETH is a 22 year old NAYA Youth Advocate from Homa Bay County. He is currently pursuing diploma in community development at the University of Eldoret. He has been trained on financial and debt management by Equity Bank, Family Matters and Parental skills by Viagenco organization and Advocacy in Sexual Reproductive and Health right (SRHR) by Network for adolescents and Youths of Africa (NAYA Kenya). He is social and a strong debater.

ONYANGO STEPHENE JUMA

STEPHENE is a 21 years old Youth Advocate from Homa-Bay County. He is currently pursuing a Diploma in Business Administration and Management at Suba Institute of Development Studies. He is a good rational decision maker and good communicator with excellent command of spoken and written English. He is also trained as a professional driver, possess basic computer knowledge as well trained on sexual reproductive health and rights for adolescent youths.
