Youth Advocate Voices

I am a grassroot activist leading the fight to end Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and Child Marriage, advocating for the education of young Maasai girls. I continuously link my role at NAYA as a Sexual reproductive health and rights youth advocate with my advocacy work at the community level.

I believe in meaningfully involving the youth in the implementation, review and follow-up of the global development goals. As a SRHR youth champion, I am keen on ensuring there is youth leadership at all levels in combating the rising conservatism globally. I want to see positive change in the realities of young people in my community.

This journey with NAYA has shaped my passion for human rights advocacy on SRHR, and unlocked my ambitions in advocating for the establishment of a specialized GBV court in Migori. Thank you NAYA Kenya for the opportunity to network and most importantly to grow through the process rather than merely going through it.

Participating in training programs and interactive sessions have enabled me to be a mentor not only to young girls but my community too. Moreover, emphasis on empowerment and advocacy has given me the confidence and drive to promote awareness of SRHR issues in my community.
